Not many exercises will isolate the lumbar region. However, the roman chair comes pretty dang close. Your glutes and hams will also be activated, but the pressure on the low back is AWESOME! I like to do this machine twice a month. I will throw the roman char into a leg or arm day. Low back exercises can easily be a part of an upper body or lower body split. Gotta love that! Now, for this exercise, I like to add a twist. Why do I do this?
