This girl was my very first impression of personal training. Obviously, she left a strong impression because I chose training for a career. I’ve blogged about Amanda before and I’m doing it again because she’s a one-of-a-kind trainer!
Amanda’s mission is to spread health and happiness. I know that sounds a little cliché, but if you have the pleasure of being around Ms. Norcross you are instantly energized. It’s kinda crazy. I noticed from the first couple sessions of shadowing Amanda for my internship that she brought out the best in her clients. She was an active listener, spoke truth in love (which is extremely hard to do) and always, always stayed positive. Amanda is hands down on of the happiest people I have ever met in my life. You HAVE to surround yourself with these types of people if you want to have a successful wellness journey.
Finally, Amanda taught me SO MUCH about exercise. After I left the internship, I not only understood how to train myself to lose weight, I felt confident to take clients and teach them what I had learned. (My clients: If you’re wondering where I get some of my crazy combo moves, you can blame this girl!)
If you are serious about changing your lifestyle, you absolutely need a trainer or some type of accountability partner to motivate you. You are going to have SO MANY days where you are tired or busy or sad or burnt out or whatever…and you’re not going to want to exercise. After I plateaued with my weight loss, you bet your sweet butt I hired a trainer. And I was a trainer!!! It was the best money I had EVER spent because I learned new ways to eat and train that I will use for the rest of my life. I made a decision to INVEST in my HEALTH. That my friends is money well spent…if I do say so myself. ☺
